Acceptance of these terms
By accessing the Skills Manager website, downloading or using a distributed build, or using an optional online feature, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the relevant website, build, or service.
If you use Skills Manager on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
Open-source license
The Skills Manager source code is made available under the MIT License. Your rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, or sell copies of that code are governed by the MIT License.
These terms govern the project website, official distributed builds, optional hosted features, branding, and your relationship with the project. They do not revoke or reduce rights granted by the MIT License.
Permitted use and responsibilities
You may use Skills Manager for lawful personal or commercial purposes, subject to applicable licenses and these terms. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining backups and verifying file operations, links, imports, exports, and synchronization results before relying on them.
- Reviewing each third-party Skill and understanding the commands, tools, permissions, and data access it may cause an AI agent to use.
- Protecting account credentials, API keys, tokens, devices, repositories, and confidential content.
- Having the rights and permissions needed for content you import, translate, publish, share, or send to an external provider.
- Complying with laws, employer policies, third-party platform rules, and software licenses that apply to your use.
Prohibited use
- Do not use the website or hosted features to break the law, infringe rights, distribute malware, exploit systems, or facilitate unauthorized access.
- Do not interfere with service operation, bypass access or rate controls, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, or impose unreasonable load.
- Do not misrepresent your identity, project affiliation, or the origin, safety, or capabilities of a Skill.
Third-party Skills and services
Skills Manager can discover, install, connect, translate, or inspect content from third parties. That content is not authored, controlled, endorsed, or guaranteed by the Skills Manager project merely because it appears in the app or marketplace.
GitHub, Google, ClawHub, Feishu/Lark, AI model providers, custom marketplace sources, coding agents, and other integrations have their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and charges. Your use of them is between you and the relevant provider.
Security scans, translations, and AI output
Static scans, LLM reviews, translations, risk labels, and other automated results are assistive signals, not guarantees. They can miss harmful behavior, produce false positives, alter meaning, or be incomplete.
You must review source files and outputs yourself before installing, enabling, executing, publishing, or relying on a Skill. Skills Manager is not a substitute for professional security review, legal advice, or independent testing.
Your content and feedback
You retain rights in content you create or provide. You grant the project only the limited rights needed to process that content for the feature you request, such as delivering feedback or authenticating an account.
If you submit suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you may do so without restriction or expectation of compensation, and the project may use it to maintain and improve Skills Manager. Do not submit material you are not authorized to share.
Availability and changes
The project may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue website content, official builds, integrations, marketplace sources, authentication, feedback channels, or other hosted features at any time. Features may differ by version, platform, region, configuration, or provider availability.
We may release security fixes or require an update for compatibility with a hosted feature. We do not promise uninterrupted access, continued support for a third-party integration, or preservation of remote content.
Project identity and intellectual property
The MIT License covers the licensed source code, not third-party content or an automatic right to imply endorsement. Skills Manager names, logos, screenshots, and other project identity elements may be protected by applicable law. Do not use them in a way that falsely suggests an official build, partnership, or endorsement.
Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKILLS MANAGER, THE WEBSITE, OFFICIAL BUILDS, AND RELATED SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THIS INCLUDES WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SECURITY, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PROJECT MAINTAINERS AND CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR SECURITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF SKILLS MANAGER OR THIRD-PARTY CONTENT.
Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Skills Manager at any time. The project may suspend or terminate access to a hosted feature when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security, legal requirements, or a material violation of these terms.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including license boundaries, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and terms concerning third-party content.
General terms
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship.
Applicable mandatory law, including non-waivable consumer protections, governs where required. Any dispute should first be raised with the project maintainers in good faith through the contact channel below.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product and related services change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Continuing to use a hosted feature after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
For questions about these terms, open an issue in the Skills Manager GitHub repository. Do not include credentials, private source code, or sensitive personal information in a public issue.
